Organizational changes

Written by kbasan on Thu, Jun 11, 5:07 PM.
  1. swift is about to move to Github. Further information will be posted when the transfer has been completed.
    1. The site will disappear and equivalent services will be provided by Github instead.
      • This includes the source code, user manual, and issue tracker which will all be hosted by Github.
    2. The swift database will be moved to another server.
    3. Discord will remain as is.
  2. As a result you might face temporary downtimes of those services. This will NOT stop you from using swift for online flying. We will try to keep those downtimes to a minimum.
  3. Klaus Basan will be retiring from his position with swift (private reasons) and no longer be available for support questions regarding swift.

ASSERT crash

Written by kbasan on Jul 28 2019, 12:35 PM.
IMPORTANT: a (hopefully) fixed version is available from Public download server . The quick fix only fixes the ASSERT issue, nothing else. Other fixes are subject of version 0.9.2

Search (at least try)

Written by kbasan on Jun 26 2019, 3:30 PM.

Sometimes we wonder if you ever have tried the search functions. We do not mind if you ask in our Discord channels, but maybe you can also try to use the search functions and see if you already find the information you need

IMPORTANT: For 0.9.0 users: In order to avoid a crash in swift while doing an IFR flight, make sure to NOT squawk 1200 for the entire flight. This causes the server to try to change your squawk as soon as you above 50 kts ground speed. But the packet is broken in swift and crashes it. The issue is fixed in the next version, but I thought you want to know before. You can use code 2000 instead.

swift and minimum FlightGear version

Written by rrossgotterer on Apr 15 2019, 8:10 PM.

Some people came in our support channels and asked how they can connect to FlightGear. The documentation gave the impression that everything would be ready with any version of FlightGear. Unfortunately this isn't the case.

The release channels
