My swift did crash
IMPORTANT: For 0.9.0 users: In order to avoid a crash in swift while doing an IFR flight, make sure to NOT squawk 1200 for the entire flight. This causes the server to try to change your squawk as soon as you above 50 kts ground speed. But the packet is broken in swift and crashes it. The issue is fixed in the next version, but I thought you want to know before. You can use code 2000 instead.
No doubt, a crash (CTD) sucks. In order to investigate we have a few hints:
- enable crash dump files, this helps to find the root cause. If we have a crash dump file we have MUCH better chances to find the reason/root cause, see https://dev.swift-project.org/w/help/swiftgeneral/crashreports/
- After a crash find your crash dump folder, save the dump files https://dev.swift-project.org/w/help/swiftgeneral/findlogfiles/ (bottom) and keep them somewhere so we can check them even if there was no automatic upload
- Let us know when (UTC time) when the crash did happen, we can then together try to analyse (we will check if we find a uploaded crash dump files, otherwise we will ask you for the files)
We will try to do everything we can do that the crash will no longer happen in the future, but we need your help with that.
